This is to strengthen all staffs’ awareness of fire control, improve their ability of coping with fire in emergency, improve their self-protection ability, impart fire-fighting knowledge to them, eliminate potential danger of fire, learn the knowledge of fire control and the method of using fire-fighting equipment, have a good command of the skills of escaping from fire and the matters needing attention, check the feasibility of Contingency Plan for Fire Control of the department, examine the timeliness of fire control group reaching the place of fire and verify the method of guaranteeing the safety of people and equipment during fire controlling.

On January 25, 2019, Liu Kai, the fire warden of Sichuan Tianfu International Exhibition Co., Ltd., organized all staffs in Western China International Expo City and all units in it to hold fire safety training, emergency exercise of fire control and the practical use of fire-fighting equipment before the Spring Festival.

At 2:00 PM, January 25, Liu Kai organized before-festival fire control training in the news conference hall of Western China International Expo City. A video was presented to expound the potential danger of fire in winter and some severe accidents of fire in the year. PPT was used to show the method of prevention and emergency disposal.

The training was to impart fire control knowledge to the staffs, improve their ability of coping with emergency of fire, improve their self-protection ability, make them know the method of using fire-fighting equipment, help them to have a good command of the skills of escaping from fire and the matters needing attention. Besides, the content of all-in-one book on fire safety was introduced further.

At 3:30 PM, January 25, Jiang Jin, the vice-general manager of the company, worked as the commander in chief to organize emergency exercise for firefighting on the 4F and 5F of office area.

After each group received the instruction of exercise start:

The leader of alert group immediately led the members of the group to set alert belt and alert area at entrance and exit to prohibit people entering the area of fire and well manage important materials on site.

The evacuation group was responsible for orderly evacuating the people on 4F and 5F to safe area.

First-aid group was responsible for simple medical treatment for the injured.

The leader of fire fighting group immediately organized the members of the group to reach the site and extinguish the fire considering the position and characters of the fire.

The leader of search-and-rescue group led the members to search every office, rest room and exit passageway on 4F and 5F, confirm whether anybody was left in the place of fire and rescue them out of the place.

The leader of equipment maintenance group immediately led members of the group to reach the place of fire and start exhaust equipment. At the same time, fire control room would be notified to start broadcasting the guide of evacuation.

The cohesive force of staffs was strengthened in the exercise. At the same time, the organizing ability, commanding ability and emergency treatment ability of emergency leading groups were improved. The purpose of the fire fighting exercise was reached.

Thanks to this firefighting exercise, the safety awareness of all staffs was strengthened. They knew more about the common sense of fire safety and improved their ability of coping with emergency. In the site of exercise, most staffs could be organized effectively and be able to immediately respond to the alarm for fire accident; the leader of most emergency groups could effectively organize their members to evacuate people, alert them and extinguish fire. This was helpful for coping with emergency later.

After finishing the fire exercise, Jiang Jin, vice-general manager of the company, expounded the operations for fire emergency and the skills of escaping from fire to all staffs. He taught staffs what they should do when fire disaster happened and how they called police, put out fire, evacuated, rescued themselves and escaped from fire.

At 4:30 PM, January 25, all staffs gathered in the open area near No. 10 door of Western China International Expo City. A worker of miniature fire station ignited the combustible prepared in advance. Liu Kai, the fire warden of Sichuan Tianfu International Exhibition Co., Ltd., introduced the method of using fire extinguisher to staffs: hold the extinguisher by hand or carry it on shoulder to reach the place of fire as soon as possible, pull out the safety pin in the place that is 3~6 m away from the combustible, use one hand to hold the handle and use the other hand to hold the extinguisher, clench the handle and then dry powder will squirt.

After the presentation of Liu Kai, all staffs of all units extinguished fire by themselves.

Staffs felt nervous at a loss at beginning when facing the big fire.

Gradually, they adapted and actively took extinguisher to extinguish the fire.
